With private pay therapy, clients have more control over their mental health services, treatment plans, and goals. Some benefits include:

We do not release any information (records) to your insurance company (or, anyone) without your written consent;
A mental health diagnosis is not required to start or continue mental health therapy services with The Healing Project of MN. A diagnostic assessment is a requirement set by insurance companies;
There are no limitations on how often or how long you receive services;
There are no surprise fees if insurance companies deny the claims, and there is no need to obtain prior authorizations before starting services.

We require all clients to have a credit card on file. We will charge your account within 24-48 hours after your therapy session. Please contact billing@thehealingprojectmn.org to arrange a payment plan before your therapy session.

Superbills: A superbill is a detailed invoice or receipt used in medical billing. It provides a comprehensive breakdown of services a healthcare provider provides to a patient and associated costs. A Superbill is a document that allows you to seek reimbursement for an out-of-network provider from your insurance company. Please notify our Billing Department if you would like a Superbill; they are not generated by our clinic automatically and/or would like additional information on this.

Our licensed therapists can help you work through life struggles and the effects of traumatic events, feelings, and symptoms of fear, anxiety, stress, sadness, despair, and hopelessness. Our dedicated therapists bring humor, enthusiasm, and energy daily while providing gender-affirming therapy, space for processing and understanding, creating a safe zone, encouraging and allowing for diversity, linking to social supports and community resources, and reflection and empathy.

TEEN TALK

Minnesota Statute Sec. 144.3431 allows youth who are 16 years of age or older to consent for outpatient mental health services without parent or guardian permission. But...this also means teens are held financially responsible for their healthcare. As part of our commitment to our community and ensuring teens receive the care they need, we offer $10 therapy sessions to teens ages 16-17, regardless of whether they have health insurance.

LOW COST THERAPY

As part of our unwavering commitment to removing barriers to mental health care, we offer a limited number of low-cost therapy sessions on Friday afternoons. These sessions are designed for young adults and/or college students with high deductibles, co-pays, out-of-network costs, or no health insurance.

The difference between our low-cost therapy model and the free drop-in therapy model is that you pay a small fee to reserve and guarantee a 1-hour therapy session. Our low-cost therapy sessions are only offered on Friday afternoons from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Sessions are $20.00 each. No insurance is needed.

FREE DROP-IN THERAPY

As part of our commitment to our community, we offer a limited number of free therapy sessions on Friday afternoons on a drop-in basis. These sessions are designed for young adults and/or college students who are underinsured, uninsured, or who cannot bill their insurance plan for any reason (high deductible plan, high co-pay, lack of mental health insurance benefits, social stigma, etc.), ensuring no one is left without the mental health support.

Please note: Services are first come, first served, so there may be a short wait. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to see everyone. Sessions are typically 30-60 minutes and are offered every Friday on a drop-in basis between 11:00 am - 3:00 pm.

Natalee Tangen, LICSW

Natalee is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who has been in the field for the past decade. She is a full-time school social worker and part-time mental health therapist with The Healing Project of MN. She can see clients who reside in MN virtually in the evenings and weekends. Her specialties include anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/loss, and working with couples. License # 28025

Rates: Diagnostic Assessment: $175 | Therapy Session: $150

Oralia Ojeda, LGSW

Oralia is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker and a full-time mental health therapist with The Healing Project of MN. She sees clients Monday through Friday. Her specialties include women's issues, parenting support, family conflict, grief/ loss, and racial identity. Her unique approach to therapy is informed by her deep understanding of these issues and her commitment to promoting mental health and well-being by utilizing somatic theory. She is bilingual in Spanish and English. License # 33691

Rates: Diagnostic Assessment: $100 | Therapy Session: $70
