Dear Community,
As The Healing Project of MN continues to grow, one of our priorities is ensuring that mental health care remains accessible while maintaining sustainable operations. Each year, we review our services to make sure we can continue offering low-cost and pro bono therapy to those who need it most. Beginning January 1, 2026, our community-rate services will be updated as follows:
Current clients will be fully grandfathered in at their existing rate. No action is needed. Any new client who schedules and completes their first session on or before December 31, 2025, will also be grandfathered into the current low-cost rates.
These changes allow us to continue providing high-quality care, expand our community support programs, and maintain the long-term stability of our agency. We remain deeply committed to offering accessible mental health services for children, teens, adults, and families across Minnesota. Thank you for being part of our community.
Take good care,
Holly Walters

At this time, our drop-in therapy services are paused as we restructure this part of our programming. We recognize the importance of accessible, low-barrier mental health support and hope to resume this service when capacity allows. If you are seeking individual therapy, please contact our intake team at intake@thehealingprojectmn.org to schedule an appointment free of charge.
We offer free drop-in therapy sessions for young adults and college students who are uninsured, underinsured, or unable to use their insurance due to high costs or other barriers. Sessions are available on a first-come, first-served basis, with wait times depending on demand. Appointments last 30–60 minutes and are offered Thursdays from 3:00–6:00 PM.
As part of our commitment to accessible mental health care, The Healing Project of MN offers therapy sessions for just $10 to all clients under age 18, regardless of insurance coverage.
Consent for Services
As part of our commitment to removing financial barriers to mental health care, we offer low-cost therapy sessions for young adults and college students facing high deductibles, co-pays, out-of-network costs, or lack of insurance.
Each of our therapists reserves a portion of their caseload for low-cost clients, providing flexibility in scheduling. We currently have immediate openings with some therapists, while others may have waitlists.
The Healing Project of MN offers Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) for children, adolescents, and young adults who have experienced trauma. TF-CBT is an evidence-based, structured, and short-term therapy model—typically 12 to 20 sessions—that helps youth and young adults:
TF-CBT also includes support for caregivers, strengthening communication, enhancing family connection, and promoting healing within a safe, trauma-informed environment.
