The Healing Project of MN LLC is committed to training and developing the next generation of social workers. We host graduate-level interns on an annual basis. One of our core values is growth, where "we believe in creating an environment where it is safe to take risks and learn from mistakes and potential failures. We recognize failure is a temporary state where the most valuable lessons are learned. We take these lessons, learn and grow from them, and continue climbing another step to reach success.
Undergraduate and graduate-level interns test the role of social work in a psychologically safe environment for nine months. After completing all the practice behaviors and competencies on their learning agenda, interns graduate from our clinical training program. If it is a good fit, we believe in transitioning the intern into a paid W2 part- or full-time employment position at the end of their practicum. As of April 2024, 50% of our interns have been offered employment opportunities at the end of their practicum with us.
Unfortunately, our internships are not paid at this time. Leadership recognizes that unpaid internships are financially stressful, reduce the quality of life, and disproportionately burden women, individuals who have families, and BIPOC folx. Our strategic plan is to offer paid internships starting in the next 2-3 years.
Information regarding 2025-2026 social work internships will be posted in mid-February 2025.
We are not able to accept foundation level graduate students for an internship placement.
