The Healing Project of MN LLC is committed to training and developing the next generation of social workers. We host graduate-level interns on an annual basis and occasionally will host undergraduate-level interns. One of our core values is growth, where "we believe in creating an environment where it is safe to take risks and learn from mistakes and potential failures. We recognize failure is a temporary state where the most valuable lessons are learned. We take these lessons, learn and grow from them, and continue climbing another step to reach success.
Our agency will be accepting applications for the following positions for the 2025-2026 academic school year:

(3) MSW Anti-Oppressive Clinical Practice Interns
(2) MSW Anti-Oppressive Macro Practice Interns
Our internship program allows interns to gain professional development and a solid foundation of micro, macro, and mezzo knowledge as they build their mental health and wellness toolbox, explore career paths in mental health and social work, and work with young adults.
Internship Descriptions:
BSW INTERNSHIP:
BSW Senior Interns will gain hands-on experience in client engagement, resource navigation, and community-based mental health programming. Responsibilities include assisting clients with Medicaid (MN-Sure), SNAP, General Assistance, housing support, food security resources, and obtaining essential documents like state IDs and Social Security cards. Interns will also co-facilitate psychoeducation workshops and support art-based mental health programming.
Interns work 16 hours per week with a flexible hybrid schedule, including:
1 morning shift (8:00 am - 1:00 pm)
1 afternoon shift (1:00-5:00 pm)
1 evening shift (4:00-8:00 pm)
1-2 in-person shifts per month that are in person, for resource fairs on college campuses and supporting art-based mental health programming, often in Ramsey County and/or Willmar, MN
Group supervision: 2 hours weekly (In-person; TBD based on cohort availability)
MSW CLINICAL PRACTICE:
Our Clinical MSW Internship provides an immersive training experience in telehealth and community-based mental health settings. Interns will maintain a caseload of 6-8 clients, co-facilitate psychoeducation workshops, assist with in-person art therapy sessions throughout Minnesota, specifically in Ramsey County and Willmar (schools, group homes, libraries), and provide free virtual drop-in therapy. The practicum begins with comprehensive onboarding and includes ongoing supervision and training to support clinical skill development.
This is an eight-month commitment (September 2025-May 2026), with the potential to transition into a W2/1099 Clinical Trainee position post-graduation. Interns work 16-20 hours per week with a flexible hybrid schedule, including:

1 evening shift (4:00-8:00 PM)

Candidates who are BIPOC and/or bilingual are strongly preferred.
MSW MULTI-CULTURAL MACRO PRACTICE:
We are seeking 2 macro interns for this year, each focusing on one of the following areas:
Policy Intern: This intern will assist in advocating for policies that address critical issues such as healthcare access. Responsibilities will include researching and analyzing policy proposals, advocating for increased funding for social services, and promoting culturally competent policies responsive to diverse populations. The policy intern will engage with stakeholders to support initiatives to expand access to mental health care and ensure that mental health services are adequately funded. The policy intern will also contribute to advocacy efforts to increase the sustainability and accessibility of mental health services, particularly for underserved populations.
Community Outreach and Marketing Intern: This intern will contribute to marketing and social media, present programming and services at college campuses and resource fairs, and assist with community engagement initiatives to enhance the visibility of our services. They will also support outreach efforts to connect with new community partners.
Interns will participate in weekly group supervision (TBD) and complete two 8-hour shifts per week in addition to the 2-hour group supervision. The remaining hours for individual scheduling will be flexible based on the intern's availability.
We are not accepting foundation-level graduate students for an internship placement.
